Hidden Places is a piece that showcases the relationship of the viewer and the artist. In art’s core, I believe the two agents are important for art to be art. With the viewer trying to understanding an artist’s work, he/she receives the gift of a map. It is years worth of traversing the land and seas compressed by creativity in a canvas. However, art is not limited to self-expression for it is also a road to the artist’s insight. By using the artists’ journey, he/she creates one for the viewer within the four corners of his/her art.
My process begins with a reflection on the relationship of the viewer and the artist in the hopes of finding an insight which could serve as the message of my work.
